Thanks to the new Artfiles website, Western Sydney’s artists can now establish a presence online for free.
To celebrate the launch of the new site, Artfiles is giving away 100 sets of customised business cards featuring individual contact details and new website address.
Artfiles is now able to provide free webpage hosting for local artists. Each webpage has its own unique address and users have complete control over the information and images presented there.
“All artists need a webpage,” said Artfiles Web Producer Amber Carvan. “It’s an online gallery of your work, a place to market your talents and a way to publicise your news and events.”
The free webpages are available to artists and artsworkers who live, work or are connected to Western Sydney, as well as arts groups and cultural organisations in the region.
Every Western Sydney artist or artsworker who creates or updates their Artfiles webpage between now and the end of September will automatically be entered into the draw to win one of 100 sets of customised Artfiles business cards.
Artfiles, produced by Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE), is the key portal to the diverse and dynamic world of the arts in Western Sydney. It includes a directory of artists, arts organisations and events across Western Sydney and a professional development program for artists. It also includes a monthly e-bulletin that can be subscribed to at ice.org.au/subscribe
“The internet is one of the main ways that potential audiences can find you, check out your work and make contact,” said Carvan. “By listing your details on Artfiles you are linking with the enormous creative community in Western Sydney – it’s really a great way to raise your profile as an artist.”
