Skill up for the new media revolution at Western Sydney’s hottest digital studio. Switch Academy launches its Spring program of affordable new media courses in late August.
Develop and sharpen your skills in music recording, sound production, digital photography, filmmaking, website creation, podcasting, digital storytelling and more at a fraction of the cost of other courses. Full details of the Switch Academy Spring Program are available by emailing Kirstie Boerst on training@ice.org.au.
The Switch Multimedia and Digital Arts Access Centre is a working new media studio in Granville running industry-standard equipment, facilities and software. All courses are taught by new media professionals who give you real-world tips, tricks and techniques.
‘The course was very relevant. We learnt the things we had to know in order to understand Final Cut and how to use it to our advantage,’ said former student Ali Kadhim. ‘The trainers were great: passionate, patient people.’
The Spring Program features a wide range of three-hour introductory courses covering all aspects of digital arts. The courses focus on developing practical skills that can be used in your own concrete creative projects.
‘We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver successful training while using our skilled trainers and industry-standard procedures and equipment,’ Switch Training Coordinator, Kirstie Boerst said. ‘These courses empower digital artists and new media practitioners by giving them greater creative control over their work.’
Switch is managed by ICE in partnership with Parramatta City Council, and also enjoys support from the NSW Film and Television Office, Arts NSW and the Australia Council for the Arts.
The Summer Program is currently in development, with a range of intensives to build on the skills developed in the Spring program.
