AGENTS OF CHANGE

ICE has been working with young men from across South-West Sydney for several years now, on a series of projects that support them to develop their creative skills, build confidence and support them to express themselves through film and video.

In 2003, the Shifa: Agents Of Change I involved a camp and subsequent film skills workshops, in which the young men worked with professional filmmakers to produce their first short film Trouble Comes to Me.

In 2004-05, fourteen Arabic young men participated in a 12-week TAFE-accredited video training program developed by ICE in partnership with the Granville TAFE Outreach Unit for the second phase of Shifa: Agents Of Change. ‘ This produced the short film Judging Amir which premiered at the 2nd Sydney Arab Film Festival in 2005.

In 2006, ICE will be undertaking a second camp with another group of young men, with a view to working towards developing a feature film with the group.
