Making Links 2006: Technology for Social Action and Community Building

This exciting annual conference explores issues of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) capacity, infrastructure and community-building potential for the not-for-profit sector.

The 2006 Making Links conference is an innovative, interactive and inspiring showcase of the best practices and strategies in for community development and social change.

MAKING LINKS 2006 Program

The conference covers a range of exciting areas in ICT capacity-building, including:

  • Sharing and updating skills in digital, web and multimedia applications
  • Building and developing valuable sustainable networks
  • Exploring the innovative strategies and possibilities of harnessing ICT to give marginalised communities a voice.

CONFERENCE STREAMS

The Making Links 2006 conference program highlights presentations and workshops that fall under one of the following streams:

1. Social Action and Community Building

2. NGOs and Technology: Infrastructure, Implementation and Maintenance

3. Practical Technology Skills

INNOVATIVE MULTIMEDIA PROJECTS SHOWCASED

On day one from 3-6, an interactive Multimedia Display showcased innovative and inspiring films, websites and projects from around Australia by communities using multimedia.

The Making Links conference mixed formal and interactive presentations with practical workshops and offered many opportunities for networking.

The Trade Fair from 3 to 6 on day one provided further opportunities for learning and connecting.
