Gutsy Film Festival Finale This Weekend
Sydney Arab Film Festival is strong on the action this weekend, with two strong finale events.
UNDER SIEGE
Today, yesterday and likely tomorrow, we are under siege.

Under Siege screens work made by Arab artists & filmmakers ‘under siege’ – from the shores of our Cronulla to the tortured coasts of Gaza, Baghdad and Beirut. Artists will speak back to the screenings of work made under siege in a very special forum featuring international guests Nizar Hassan, Palestinian Filmmaker, and Eliane Raheb, Lebanese filmmaker and Festival Director of Ayam Beirut al-Cinemaiya (Cinema Days of Beirut).
Under Siege video screening program includes work by local artists Fatima Mawas and Fadle El-Harris, as well as works from Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.

A THRILLING SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN THE MAGHREB
Bedwin Hacker. A genius, spirited techie on the run from Fench intelligence in the mountains of Tunisia in this nailbiting and often humorous thriller that offers us a glimpse into the lives of north African women. Screening with a short film The Deceased from Morocco.

THROUGH MY EYES
Eliane Raheb, filmmaker and Festival Director of Ayam Beirut al-Cinemaiya (Cinema Days of Beirut) introduces three of her films in a moving program that visits Palestine, Baghdad and Beirut.

FESTIVAL WEDNESAY MATINEE SESSION
Screening this Wednesday 14 March – 11am to 2pm. A brief but beautiful selection of shorts from Lebanon and Palestine, followed by the 2005 feature comedy Jammin in the Middle E – set and filmed in South Western Sydney.
