Sweet Pain: African communities explore domestic violence through local film
Fairfield’s African communities explored their views about domestic violence at a special screening and forum of Sweet Pain, a local film produced with support from Information & Cultural Exchange (ICE).
“Domestic Violence occurs in all communities, said the film’s director Bernard Makeny. “The question for us is, what can we as a community do about it?” Sweet Pain community discussions were supported by ICE and Fairfield City Council, and the film will re-launch as a community resource this November with highlights of the discussions.
