Introducing: Hi8us

Parramatta City Council, the British Council and ICE invite you to a reception introducing the award-winning youth film and media organisation Hi8us to Australia.

During the month of January, UK-based Hi8us will partner with ICE on the Digi-Tales project, a global digital storytelling project giving young people the opportunity to share their stories with a worldwide audience.

Hi8us will be based at the Switch Centre at ICE, where they will train young media leaders to create their own ‘digi-tales’. Following the first week of intense training, Hi8us will support these media makers as they train other young people in Western Sydney in the art of digital storytelling.

Their stories will be posted online on www.digi-tales.org alongside stories from Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the UK.

Digi-Tales is coordinated by ICE, Hi8us Projects Limited and the British Council. The project is a partnership with Campbelltown City Council, Parramatta City Council, Sarah Redfern High School and Macarthur Diversity Services.

It is also supported by the NSW Film and Television Office, the Ian Potter Foundation, the Sidney Myer Foundation, the Foundation for Young Australians and Switch Multimedia and Digital Arts Access Centre. ICE receives core support from Arts NSW and the Australia Council for the Arts.
