Train the Trainer - Project Round-up

ICE has recently wrapped up the Train the Trainer project – the first of six different digital storytelling workshops being held as part of the Digi Diaries project.

The Train the Trainer workshop saw a diverse group of creative and cultural leaders from Western Sydney being trained in digital storytelling production and facilitation.

Each of the creative leaders who participated learned techniques to facilitate community digital storytelling projects and produced their own unique stories.

Participants included: Eddie Abd, Nasser Palangi, Sanaz Fotouhi, Leo Tanoi, Hedy Sussmann, Jamil Khuri, Marian Abboud, Yamane Fayed, Saleh Saqqaf, Lina Kastoumis and Hassan Reda.

To view the digital stories created as part of this workshop, please click on the video links at the bottom of the page.

Following the train the trainer program, we have sent the trainers out to run workshops with young people across the region. We are currently running workshops targeting Afghan young people in Auburn. Workshops with Muslim youth are planned in Bankstown, Fairfield, Parramatta and other parts of Western Sydney in the coming months.

This project was proudly supported by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) through the National Action Plan (NAP). ICE receives core support from Arts NSW, Australia Council for the Arts, and Screen NSW. This project utilises the facilities of Switch Digital Arts Centre, a partnership with Parramatta City Council.
