» Aspiring artists and the Fairfield community turned up in droves to celebrate some of Sydney’s freshest filmmakers, designers and urban music artists at Press Play on March 31. A highlight of the evening was when Saber Baluch, a young Communications student at the University of Western Sydney, was awarded Western Sydney’s most coveted young creative entrepreneur award; the Create Media Incubation prize. » Western Sydney and Parramatta-based emerging writers, directors, and producers are invited to participate in a 10-week introduction to the world of dramatic, character-based storytelling. Stuff | The Drama of it all is an intensive workshop series for emerging filmmakers to advance their skills by working with some of Australia’s leading screen practitioners. More »

Jammin' with Mervin

» From 3pm on Saturday the 17th of April, Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) in partnership with DLux Media and Street University will host Jammin’ with Mervin. Mervin Jarman is a Jamaican community arts activist and interactive multimedia designer. This is a unique opportunity for young people, hip-hop artists, urban artists and arts workers to learn about creative ways to use music and technology in a community context. More »

SHORTCUTS 2010

» A record number of entries were received for this year’s SHORTCUTS film festival which was hosted as part of National Youth Week and presented by PYT, ICE and Fairfield City Council. ICE congratulates all the winners and finalists for their fantastic work.
