Making Links Conference
At the forefront of where social action and technology converge, you will find Making Links. Making Links is a conference for people, organisations and groups working with digital media for social change including community workers, educators, trainers, and not-for-profit organisations, people who work with marginalised groups, activists and researchers.
The conference began in 2004 when a group of organisations using IT within communities, including ICE, recognised the need for community organisations in the not-for-profit sector to share our stories and build capacity. This year it will be held in Perth, Western Australia, 15-17 November 2010.
Making Links is currently seeking proposals for oral presentations, workshops and interactive media displays from practitioners, artists, community workers, students and academics. Click here to learn more and be a part of the digital revolution in communities.
The first night of the conference will include an outdoor film festival screening films and digital works showcasing creative and engaged communities and projects and digital art. ICE and the Making Links committee are coordinating a program for the film festival. We’re calling on artists, community groups and activists to submit short works for the screening.
