German DJ shares sonic electronica
Electronic music from Germany
Germany’s electronic music scene has become a synonym for unique style and groundbreaking innovations for young music fans all over the world.
Hans Nieswandt, one of Germany’s most renowned and influential DJs, producer and author, will be touring South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, exploring local electronic scenes and meeting DJs and musicians.
Hans’ tour of the region is a program of the Goethe-Institut, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany – which promotes knowledge of the German language and cultural cooperation and exchange.
In partnership with ICE, the Goethe-Institut presents two events as part of Hans’ visit to Sydney:

Building sound collaborations
“Electronic music is an expression of our globalised society, and electronic music from Germany is truly world class” says Klaus Krishok, Director of the Goethe-Institut Sydney, speaking of the collaboration.
“DJ Hans Nieswandt has been touring around the planet and will finally come to Sydney, not only to demonstrate the best of what he has got to offer, but also to sample the grooves and rhythms of this wonderful city. We are looking forward to a true and vibrant exchange.”
During the three days that Hans will be in Sydney from 23-26 November, in addition to the formal program, he is looking to connect with the local DJ and club scene – club venues, music producers and artists – to exchange artistic ideas and get more insight into the Australian DJ scene.
Through this, Goethe-Institut Sydney is hoping to have made enough local contacts to enable other German DJs in 2007 to produce some tracks in Sydney with some local artists to be featured in a public concert.
