This year ICE is again running TropWest – a public forum and info session for Western Sydney filmmakers who are interested in entering Movie Extra Tropfest.

Western Sydney Filmmakers – Movie Extra Tropfest wants you! Hear firsthand from Movie Extra Tropfest staff about entry process, selection criteria and filmmaker activities for Movie Extra Tropfest and Tropfest Jr 2010. See some of the award-winning films. Speed meet with the best from the industry to discuss your ideas one-on-one.
Speakers and speed meet facilitators include: Lena Nahlous (ICE), Michael Laverty (Movie Extra Tropfest), Paul Stuart (Movie Extra Tropfest), Ashley Luke (NSW FTO), Ranko Markovic (Producer, Cedar Boys), Kris Wyld (Producer, East West 101), Naomi Wenck (Producer Ten Empty and Newcastle), George Basha (Actor, Screenwriter, Producer), Genevieve Clay (Tropfest winner 2009), Tresa Ponnor (Tropwest Scholarship winner 2008), Jason Van Genderen and Shane Emmett (Tropfest NY winners 2008), Adam Thorogood (International Film School Sydney), Corrie McDougall (Aurora) and Joanne Teng, a solicitor who works in the film and associated industries.
TROPWEST SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The winner of ICE’s TropWest Scholarship Award (valued at $5000) will be announced on the day. The award is open to emerging and developing filmmakers living in Western Sydney that would like to make a film for Movie Extra Tropfest 2010.
