MAXINE SHERRIN is one of the directors of Web Directions, an Australian company that produces a highly successful series of annual conferences, hack days and other events for web designers and developers from industry and government in Australia, as well as in the USA, Canada, UK and Japan. These events provide a forum for discussing and experimenting with web culture, while also exposing the audience to the cutting edge of web technologies and thinking. Starting in 2004, the events in Australia are now an important part of the local web landscape and are widely acknowledged for their role in nurturing the local industry. Through her work at Web Directions Maxine has developed a broad knowledge of the web industry which she uses to produce events that educate and inspire.
