Nicola Morton is an Asian-Australian artist that uses DIY and experimental processes in composition, performance and video making. She studied a Bachelor of Music Technology at Queensland Conservatorium of Music and is currently completing a Master of Fine Arts at Sydney College of Art. She has composed for Javanese Gamelan and Classical ensembles in Australia and Indonesia, but musically has spent the last 7 years focusing on analogue synthesizers and free improvisation, touring Europe, China and the USA. The National Film and Sound Archive has collected a set of her solo experimental electronic recordings. Her video art, Remote Viewing Experiment #1 was also shortlisted in the 17th International Contemporary Art Competition (formerly Videobrasil).
