Park Kings was a Photography and Music project for young people (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal) to explore Kingswood Park and Celebrate the lives and characters of the community.
ICE has been working with talented kids in the area for a few years and watching their skills in digital media grow. This project gets the kids involved with a park they haven’t been using for a while and at the same time, will help build community bonds and intergenerational understanding through producing and showcasing Music and Photography.
The project ran from April to July 2013 as the participants were mentored by local artists to use multimedia tools to produce digital reflections of their lives for a big showcase on family fun day.
This project was produced by ICE, funded through Magnetic Places grant at Penrith City Council and in partnership with North Penrith Neighbourhood Centre. If you would like more information about Park Kings (2013), you can get in contact with Christian Tancred at ICE for more details
