A tour of architecture and suburb.
The tour Robin Boyd should have taken.
During Sydney Architecture Week 2013 four bus loads of enthusiasts experienced a very different minibus tour that explored the unique living and historic architecture and cultural transitions of a proud working class Western Sydney Suburb.
Travelling through time, place and technology Pearls explored Granvilles architectural wonders, aesthetic and cultural transitions and related community histories and fabulous food.
The tours ran from 10am to 3:30pm November 2,3,9&10 and included a number of site visits including Granville Town Hall, Granville Swimming pool, St Marks Anglican Church, Good St, Granville RSL, Chalk South St, Dellwood Shopping Centre, Graville South Performing and Creative High School and Blouza hall, community speakers Barry and June Bullivant, Sam Sabsabi, David Borger, John Kirkman, Beth Finn, with multimedia artworks by western Sydney artists Jerome Pearce, Ali Kadhim and Jonathan Wilson presented in the flesh and on iPads as part of the tour experience.
