A screenwriting workshop program for emerging storytellers will be offered for free to first-time screenwriters from Fairfield and surrounding suburbs in Western Sydney. Part of Information and Cultural Exchange’s Screen Cultures Program, the SLING SHOT workshops have been designed with first-time screenwriters in mind.
Do you have an idea for a story set in or connected to Western Sydney Don’t know how to structure your idea into a story that will make producers and commissioners sit up and take notice This workshop program will outline the narrative elements that make strong and compelling stories.
Workshops will be facilitated by Screenwriter, Nick Parsons, whose credits include numerous episodes of recent, ground-breaking Australia TV dramas, including The Straits and My Place. Participants will be supported to produce a pitch document of one or two pages for an original idea that can be used to garner more interest and opportunities.
The program of 3 workshops is available for up to 10 emerging screenwriters from Fairfield and Western Sydney. To participate you must register your interest by completing an Expression Of Interest form.
