SCOUT! is a free online resource for filmmakers that contains all the information required to get screen projects up-and-running in Parramatta. The sixteen page online book will give you access to inspiring locations, leads to local production and creative crew, the red-tape rundown, support to access funding and facilities, ethical guidelines and much more.
Information and Cultural Exchange inc. (ICE) will officially launch this resource online (ice.org.au) and with an event on Wednesday 6-8pm, September 8 at the Artists Studios, Hunter St, Parramatta. “ICE’s dynamic film and digital media projects have been designed to support local film and screen-based artists to produce, exhibit and distribute their work, build skills and capacity and connect emerging artists to profession.
SCOUT! is a joint project between ICE’s Parramatta Screening Initiative and Parramatta City Councils Arts and Cultural Grants Program. “Whether you represent an established production company or are just starting out in the industry, Parramatta City Council has committed to faster and more streamlined processes to make it easier than ever before to make your film.” Says Councillor Paul Garrard, Lord Mayor, Parramatta City Council.
From SCOUT! “Parramatta is, quite simply, a fantastic place to make a movie. It’s fresh, diverse and versatile. It’s gritty and gorgeous by turns and it hasn’t yet become a screen cliché.
