Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) works at the intersection of arts, culture, technology and community. ICE projects engage diverse communities, build capacity in digital media and arts practice, and tell the stories of an extraordinary place, Western Sydney – the most diverse region in Australia.

All Projects

Get it on the Big Screen

Free workshops for emerging Cinematographers, Editors, Set Designers, Make-up Artists and Actors run at Switch over 3 weekends, the workshops incorporated practical workshops with experienced trainers and then participants formed small production teams to make three Short Films, accompanied by a director.

Hip Hop Who r u?

Does your music speak to global issues? Is your web presence representing? Get multiplatform with MTV Fulbright Scholar, Akesha Horton from the USA.

African Parenting Stories

This heartfelt community-media project curated extraordinary stories of family, place and identity of African-Australians in transition.

Koori Story Exchange

The Koori Story Exchange project engaged over 35 young Aboriginal people from Cranebrook, near Penrith in digital storytelling and hip-hop music production workshops over a series of months this year.

Bonds For Life: Life After Bonds

Some 2000 workers lost their jobs in 2009, when Pacific Brands closed seven factories across Australia and moved production offshore. The Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia (TCFUA) contracted ICE to run a digital storytelling project with ex-workers to help them cherish their memories and document what was such a big part of their lives.
