Bonds For Life: Life After Bonds

Some 2000 workers lost their jobs in 2009, when Pacific Brands closed seven factories across Australia and moved production offshore. The Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia (TCFUA) contracted ICE to run a digital storytelling project with ex-workers to help them cherish their memories and document what was such a big part of their lives.

On Friday 24 June, seven digital stories were screened as part of Upstream – Digital Stories of Water and Place.

Throughout April, ICE hosted two sets of workshops, Megaphonic Slam: for up-coming emcees to write and record their own beats and rhymes, and Optic Stories: for young artists to create visuals works, that formed a platform of audio and visual urban cultures.

Public Enemy #2 – A conversation with The Narcicyst

ICE had the pleasure of hosting this relevant conversation with Iraqi Canadian emcee, Yassin Alsalman a.k.a The Narcicyst to dicuss his self-published book, The Diatribes of A Dying Tribe. An appropriate conversation to have, particularly when the Middle East has been shaken with much change on the streets of Tunis & Cairo.
