About The Switch Centre

Switch: Digital Arts Centre

Switch Digital Arts Centre provides state-of-the-art facilities for Western Sydney communities from its base at ICE in Parramatta.
Switch is a hub for commercial-quality new media hardware and software, and industry experts in music and sound, video, screen-based art and graphic design. With inspiring technology in the hands of Western Sydney’s most creative digital artists, Switch is set to become ground zero for some earth-shaking new media projects.

It has been an integral part of most ICE projects, including the creation of award-winning dramas, documentaries, music CDs and online projects. In October 2010, Switch will move into the purpose-built state of the art building and facilities in Parramatta’s cultural precinct.

Switch is a core component of ICE’s Creative Enterprise Program. It will be a registered training organisation, a production/performance space and collaborative point for creative enterprises and artists in the region. Switch is also a means of access for many communities in Western Sydney that are disadvantaged by economic and social barriers. As an organisation working closely with culturally diverse communities ICE is well equipped to engage with these communities and offer them a mode of expression and cultural output.
