All Girl Electronic | 7 Questions with Alessandra Femenias
ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC 2017 is drawing to a close and we’ve ended it on a high note with End of an AGE.
We asked the crew 7 questions so you can get to know a bit about them and their music, below are Alessandra’s answers.
7 Questions with Alessandra Femenias
- Where is your hood?
- What is your age?
- Who is your favourite music producer right now?
This always changes, but I’ve been loving Lupa J at the moment! Her sound is so unique and refreshing. I especially love her track, Keep Back – it’s super dark and edgy but still dance-able.
- If you could pick a theme song for your life what would it be?
This is a hard one – not going to lie, I thought about this for a good hour! At the moment it’s probably Ain’t it Fun by Paramore – the lyrics are relatable – “ain’t it fun, living the real world….don’t go crying to your mama, ’cause you’re on your own in the real world” and the bass line is super funky. Plus it never fails to make me want to dance!
- What is the hardest part about making music?
Making music can sometimes be overwhelming, because there are so many possibilities when it comes to instruments, sounds and effects. I also have a rock music background, so producing electronic music is very new and different for me! I think it’s important to not over-think things and just go with whatever you think sounds good. Start simple with a melody, hook or drum beat, and build from there.
- What is the best part about making music?
The best part is being able to turn your experiences and emotions into a piece of music that you’re proud of. It’s really satisfying and rewarding to hear all of your hard work presented in a neat 3-5 minute track. Plus it’s fun to experiment with lots of different sounds and effects! I love that there are no limitations with electronic music; anything goes and you don’t necessarily need expensive equipment to make great music.
- Describe your music in three words:
Experimental, danceable and atmospheric.
