ACE (Arts & Cultural Exchange) and River City Voices have partnered to present the digital and physical launch of a brand-new EP titled What The World Needs! Pairing neurodiverse musicians from ACE’s Club Weld with breathtaking arrangements by the River City Voices symphonic choir.

The subversive collaboration brings together the creative minds of disabled and abled artists with a digital launch taking place on 11 June (5-7pm).

The What the World Needs EP features performances by ACE Club Weld artists, including: country and new-folk musician Jerrah Patson; the romantic-pop melodies of Sienna Acquaro; expressionistic new-folk by Nina Gotsis; pop ballad extraordinaire Clare Brown; glossy electronic artist Charbel Nehme; and keyboard connoisseur Jonathan Yung.

Each song was recorded with vocals by the River City Voices symphonic choir, headed by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sarah Penicka-Smith who worked with Club Weld’s neurodiverse musicians to transform their original songs into scored choral arrangements.

The songs included on What The World Needs are now part of River City Voices permanent repertoire and will be available for download and streaming.

CLUB WELD is a skills and creative development program for musicians on the autism spectrum. Led by specialist facilitator/collaborators and supported by arts, industry and philanthropic partnerships, Club Weld is unique, providing weekly supported studio sessions; live performance, recording, broadcast and cultural development opportunities.
