Ebube Uba is a Nigerian born, emerging Afro-Australian performer, theatre maker, filmmaker and cultural leader within the Nigerian community in Sydney.
While studying Communications and Media Arts Production at Western Sydney University she gained experience working within various arts practices in and outside of her studies. The likes of Cinematographer Vincent Tay, documentary filmmaker Alejandra Canales, Aanisa Vylet and more have mentored Ebube through her artistic practices and continue to inspire her. She was lucky enough to receive a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant that would allow her to study in Jakarta, Indonesia and intern for award winning visual artists Nia Fliam and Agus Ismoyo in their Yogyakarta Batik studio.
When she’s not performing or studying, she is developing her personal visual projects and working amongst community building organisations such as the Next Generation Nigeria Association (or NGN Sydney) where she facilitates in the planning of cultural and networking events as well as Bring It On Dance Competition where she mentors high school aged students as they choreograph and prepare to compete against other schools across Sydney.
