Since July 23 young unemployed graphic designers have been working with four cutting-edge Sydney graphic designers to re-brand businesses in the Western Sydney suburb of Granville in a unique skills development, mentoring and employment program known as Branded!
With energy and gusto, the young designers took up the challenge to flex their design muscles in creating fresh, unique brand designs for participating Good Street businesses: the Granville Fresh Fruit Market, Anawin Op Shop, Afran Lebnan Bakery and the Auto Shack. The results were outstanding with the team behind the Afran Lebnan Bakery design being awarded the Silver Winner at the Sydney Design Awards.

“Through the Branded Project, I’ve been lucky enough to be in the company of an amazing illustrator and designer. The first hand exposure has given me a taste of what to expect in the future and it gives me the confidence to strive for it.” Farhan Mahmud – Participant with Kindred
Branded! was part of the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN)’s InRoads program supported by J.P. Morgan. ICE receives program funding from the Australia Council for the Arts, ARTS NSW and The Department of Families and Community Services.
