Throughout June and July ICE ran a digital production project that aimed to empower young people in Western Sydney. Working in two schools, Auburn Girls High School and Granville South Performing and Creative Arts High School, I Have A Dream… allowed participants to speak their minds, offer an opinion, dream a little bigger and let their voice about how they see themselves, their environment and their everyday, be heard through the creation of a new digital portraits made solely with an iPad.
The participants created a series of digital portraits with facilitation from artists George Tillianakis and Marian Abboud. Through shared experience in visual mediums and visual creation, the artists worked with the participants to create new and personal stories that are essentially an examination of how they see their world in 2014.
This project is part of a series which continued in 2015 with I Have A Dream Cranebrook. This iteration included a digital arts workshop series for young people from Cranebrook, culminating in a multi form digital arts showcase event at the Cranebrook shopping centre.
