The Motel Sisters in Care is a four-week artist-in-residence program in which performance duo ‘The Motel Sisters’ (Liam Benson and Naomi Oliver) will live and work at the Abel Tasman Aged Care Village (ATV) in Chester Hill.
The Motel Sisters, costumed in eye catching finery, will create gentle, memorable daily experiences for the residents and staff: a Salon Spa offering hand massages; nail art and sensory activities; a cocktail party; chair Zumba; Hi-Tea; room makeovers; a farewell concert; fantasy-based performative/video works and live tableau and one on one ‘friend’ private time.
Alongside The Motel Sisters will be one of Australia’s leading celebrity portrait and fashion photographers, Harold David, who will document the program as it unfolds.
The goal of The Motel Sisters in Care is to enliven the Village with collaborative and immersive experiences that are based in joy, inclusion and hope.
The Motel Sisters
Western Sydney-based artists Liam Benson and Naomi Oliver are ‘The Motel Sisters’. They parody popular culture and suburbia; and push the boundaries of digital art and performance.
