The New Age Noise Collective is a group of 14 young people currently working to establish a Parramatta-based label and booking agency focussed on profiling and showcasing artists from the Western Sydney region.
The Collective is directly addressing the need for opportunity and representation of female-identifying, non-cis male, transgender and non-binary musicians and artists from Western Sydney with the intent to generate better visibility and opportunity for young people from diverse backgrounds in an industry that is historically male-dominated.
The Collective meets weekly on Wednesday nights at Information + Cultural Exchange to participate in planning meetings and undertake mentoring and training sessions. As 2019 continues the group will also be participating in weekend intensives and ‘on-the-ground’ learning. Mentors and trainers include music journalists, photographers, web developers, label managers, business advisors, media and communications managers and event production companies.
The New Age Noise Collective is proud to partner with MusicNSW, FBi Radio and GRID Series on these initiatives.
The New Age Noise Collective receives support from the City of Parramatta and the NSW Government – Youth Opportunities Program.
Information + Cultural Exchange also receives core support from the Australia Council for the Arts, the NSW Government through the Department of Family and Community Services and Create NSW, Crown Resorts Foundation and The Packer Family Foundation.
