New Age Noise Collective (2019) - Information & Cultural Exchange

New Age Noise Collective (2019)

The New Age Noise Collective is a group of 14 young people currently working to establish a Parramatta-based label and booking agency focussed on profiling and showcasing artists from the Western Sydney region.

The Collective is directly addressing the need for opportunity and representation of female-identifying, non-cis male, transgender and non-binary musicians and artists from Western Sydney with the intent to generate better visibility and opportunity for young people from diverse backgrounds in an industry that is historically male-dominated.

The Collective meets weekly on Wednesday nights at Information + Cultural Exchange to participate in planning meetings and undertake mentoring and training sessions. As 2019 continues the group will also be participating in weekend intensives and ‘on-the-ground’ learning. Mentors and trainers include music journalists, photographers, web developers, label managers, business advisors, media and communications managers and event production companies.

The Collective members are working closely with participants from New Age Noise (and past All Girl Electronic alumni) as they move towards producing and running two live events, developing and launching the New Age Noise digital platform, and a 12-track New Age Noise compilation album.
