In 2014 We Are United worked with three First Nation communities Aboriginal, East Timorese and Karen from Fairfield, to create documentaries (and educational resources) about family, culture and connection.
This project employed 3 women filmmakers to work with a community each to produce participatory films. The resulting films provided an insight into what life is like living in Fairfield as a member of an ex-patriot first nation community.
A DVD resource aimed at educational institutions was created and is available for free through ICE.
The films were showcased at a screening event at Powerhouse Youth Theatre in Fairfield.
